Flying Saucer Pizza Company is a small, independent restaurant in the heart of downtown Salem, MA. Here’s what to know before you arrive.

Nope! We don't take reservations. Flying Saucer is small but mighty with 8 outdoor tables (weather permitting), 13 bar seats, and additional indoor table seating. All seating is first-come, first-served.
Are Reservations Accepted?
Yes, when there's a wait, please see our host when you arrive. We don't offer call-ahead or virtual waitlist seating.

Our maximum party size is 8. Because of our small dining room, we're unable to accommodate larger groups. If your group is larger than 8 people, and you are willing to be seated separately, we will be happy to work with you. Just know that we cannot guarantee you will be seated at the same time or near each other. For very large groups or special events, please check out our catering & space rental options.

Do you have outdoor seating?
Yes, weather permitting. We have an 8-table patio.
Dogs are allowed on our patio as long as our patio rules are followed per the Board of Health.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. Our accessible entrance is adjacent to our patio, and we provide ADA-complaint seating.

Our address is 118 Washington Street with our entrance facing Lappin Park at the corner of Washington & Essex Streets. We’re working on correcting it, but GPS often brings people behind the building where there is no restaurant entrance. While we work to correct this, we recommend navigating to our neighbor, Gulu-Gulu Cafe, 247 Essex Street. If you see the Bewitched Statue on the corner, we’re right behind it!
Where exactly are you?
While we do not have a dedicated parking lot, there is metered street parking, several metered lots nearby (including the Sewall Street & Crombie Street lots), as well as parking garages at the MBTA Salem train station and the Museum Place Mall garage.

We are about a 5-minute walk from the MBTA Salem Station with both bus and commuter rail service.

We sure do! Our slices are HUGE! ¼ of a large pie!
We offer cheese, pepperoni, pepperoni + hot honey, a slice of the day, and a vegan slice of the week.

Can I order takeout?
We have several options for delivery. Order by phone, through our online ordering page, or through the Toast TakeOut app for the best selection and pricing. We process your order and dispatch DoorDash’s delivery fleet. You can also find us on Uber Eats, Grubhub and DoorDash, but prices are higher on those platforms due to third-party commission fees.
Can I order Delivery?
Due to the high volume of dine-in guests on October weekends we do not offer takeout or delivery. If you’re looking for something to go during that time, check out our Flying Saucer Slice Tent in Lappin Park for pizza by the slice!

Salem gets a little wild.
Here’s how to navigate it.
October is unlike any other time in Salem. To serve as many guests as possible, we operate a little differently on weekends.

Please see our host when you arrive. We’ll take down your name & party size to organize making seating available for waiting guests. We ask that at least one person from your party remain in line while you wait. Someone must be present to claim your table when it becomes ready.
Why don’t you have call-ahead seating or text notifications when tables are ready? Good question. We’ve tried offering these options in the past, and they both result in periods of time with tables empty & waiting for guests to arrive, which isn’t good for us and isn’t good for you.

It depends on the size of your group & timing of your arrival. Smaller groups can sometimes be seated within 20 minutes if the stars magically align. Larger groups will need to wait longer. Please expect to wait an hour or more to be seated. If we can get you in faster than that we will!

Takeout and delivery are available weekdays only. On October weekends, our to-go option is our slice tent just steps from our door in Lappin Park.
We make slice pies as quickly as possible, but during peak times some varieties may temporarily sell out while the next pies are in the oven. Thank you for your patience & understanding! -
We strongly recommend taking public transportation to Salem in October, as parking is limited and garages fill quickly. If you need to drive, metered street parking and garages are available, with the Sewall and Crombie Street lots and the MBTA Salem Station garage among the closest options. Restrooms are for seated guests only. We share our restrooms with our neighbor, Gulu-Gulu Cafe, and our infrastructure requires us to limit restroom access to our dine-in guests. You can find information on public restrooms in town here. Thank you for your understanding.
